History
International Service Center (Puslain) UIN Sumatera Utara Medan is a working unit established to facilitate internationalization needs, more technically to facilitate the integration of international students with the academic and social environment of UIN North Sumatera Medan. More than just recruiting international students, International Service Center is also the frontline in providing comprehensive support to international students from the beginning to the end of their study journey at UIN North Sumatera Medan.
Factually, the recruitment and service of international students at UIN North Sumatera Medan has actually started since the 1980s which was carried out by the Public Relations of UIN Sumatera Utara Medan (IAIN North Sumatera Medan at that time). However, structurally, International Service Center was only established in 2012 during the leadership of Prof. Dr. Nur Ahmad Fadhil Lubis, MA as a Rector. International Service Center UIN North Sumatera Medan is currently led by Prof. Dr. Ansari Yamamah, MA.
In the future, Puslain will further strengthen its position as an institution that plays a role in becoming the main stage for cross-border exchange of culture, knowledge, and experience for foreign students from various countries who come to pursue academic dreams at UIN Sumatera Utara Medan.
Vision & Mission
The vision of the International Service Center of UIN Sumatera Utara Medan is “Leading in internationalization services to support UIN Sumatera Utara Medan towards Smart Islamic University”. While the Mission of the International Service Center UIN North Sumatera Medan are:
- Introducing UIN Sumatera Utara Medan to the international arena in an effort to strengthen networking (cooperation) and recruitment of foreign students.
- Provide comprehensive services to international students from the beginning to the end of their study at UIN Sumatera Utara Medan.
